Our Centre

A warm nest in the heart of Logan Central

Mojo’s Nature Nest Early Learning has been part of the Logan community for many years and has been proudly family owned and operated by Angie since 2014.

We are open for 52 weeks of the year – only closed for Public Holidays.

We are independent and unique, and we believe that is one of our greatest strengths. It allows our educators to genuinely know our children, build meaningful relationships with families and create a place where children feel safe, known, valued and that they belong.

Our approach to early childhood has grown and evolved over the years, but relationships have always remained at the heart of what we do. Today, Mojo is shaped by authentic childhoods, nature, inclusion, play, children’s voices and meaningful connections with our wider community.

Our experienced educators work collaboratively across all classrooms, creating environments and experiences that respond to each child’s interests, strengths, development and individual needs. We don’t believe childhood needs to be rushed.

Come and visit us!  We would love to show you around!

What are your opening hours?

Mojo’s Nature Nest is open Monday to Friday from 7:00am–5:00pm, providing families with flexible early education and care throughout the year.

We are open for 52 weeks of the year – only closed for Public Holidays.

Where are you located?

What ages do you care for?

Mojo’s Nature Nest provides early childhood education and care for children from 15 months to 6 years of age, across our Explorers, Adventurers and Pioneers/Kindy learning environments.

Can I claim Child Care Subsidy (CCS) ?

The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is an Australian Government payment that helps eligible families with the cost of early childhood education and care.

Your CCS entitlement is determined by Services Australia based on your individual family circumstances and is generally paid directly to the service, reducing the amount you pay as your gap fee.

Not sure what your Mojo fees will look like? We know CCS can sometimes feel a little confusing! Once you know your CCS percentage and eligible hours, our team is more than happy to provide you with an estimated fortnightly gap fee based on the Mojo session and number of days you are considering, giving you a much clearer idea of what care may actually cost your family before you enrol.

For current eligibility information, CCS rates or to apply, please visit the Services Australia Child Care Subsidy page.

Do you provide meals?

We provide nutritious Morning Tea,  Lunch, Afternoon Tea and snacks.

What do we need to bring each day?

  • A sun safe hat
  • Wear sun smart appropriate clothing for messy and outdoor play
  • A water bottle
  • A rest time sheet
  • No nut products, including muesli bars
  • A back pack with spare clothes
  • Any comfort item your child may need
  • Please label your child's belongings clearly

What are your rooms?

Our learning environments are designed around children's ages, development and individual needs.

  • Explorers – approximately 1–2+ years
  • Adventurers – approximately 3–4 years
  • Pioneers / Kindy – approximately 4–6 years

Transitions between environments are based on more than a child's birthday. We consider their development, confidence, relationships, individual needs and readiness.

What makes Mojo different?

Mojo is a small, family-focused early learning service where relationships and connection are at the heart of what we do.

Our approach combines nature-based learning, Montessori influences, child-led play and meaningful real-world experiences. We believe children need time and space to explore, wonder, take appropriate risks, build independence and simply experience childhood.

How do you support children with additional needs?

With family consent, we work closely with Inclusion Support services and a range of community organisations, with family consent, to support each child’s individual needs.

Our experienced educators undertake ongoing professional development in inclusive practice, and where required, we may implement above-ratio staffing to provide additional support and meaningful participation in our program.

Do you take children on excursions?

Yes. Excursions and community experiences are an important part of learning at Mojo’s Nature Nest. We believe children benefit from meaningful opportunities to explore and connect with the community around them.

Depending on the program, children may participate in experiences such as visiting local parks, community events, cafés, libraries and other places within our local area.

All excursions are planned and risk assessed before they occur. Families are provided with the relevant excursion information and written parent/guardian authorisation is required before a child can participate.

Appropriate educator-to-child ratios, supervision requirements and additional risk controls are determined for each excursion based on factors such as the location, activity, children's ages and individual needs.

Do you run a Government Approved Kindergarten Program?

Yes. Mojo provides the Queensland Government approved Kindergarten program for eligible children in the year before Prep, administered by our qualified Early Childhood Teacher (ECT).

Read more on our Kindergarten page >

Do you offer Free Kindy?

Yes. Eligible children can access the Queensland Government's 15 hours of Free Kindy per week for 40 weeks of the year through our approved Kindergarten program.

What are your Kindy session times?

Our Free Kindy sessions are generally available as 9:00am–2:00pm or 8:30am–1:30pm, depending on the child's booking arrangements.

Families needing longer care can speak with us about extending their child's booking beyond the funded Kindy hours.

What booking sessions do you offer?

Mojo offers several booking options to help families choose a session that suits their needs and Child Care Subsidy entitlements.

Our sessions include:

  • 5-hour session – Free Kindy session - 9am to 2pm or 8.30am-1.30pm
  • 6-hour short day - 9am-3pm
  • 9-hour medium day – 7am–4pm
  • 10-hour long day – 7am–5pm

Our team can help you work out which option is most suitable for your family.

How much will childcare cost me?

Every family's out-of-pocket cost is different because it depends on your Child Care Subsidy (CCS) percentage, subsidised hours, booked days and session length.

If you provide Mojo with your current CCS percentage and eligible hours, we can provide an estimated gap-fee quote before enrolment.

Any quote is an estimate and may change depending on information or adjustments made by Services Australia.

Do you accept Child Care Subsidy?

Yes. Mojo is an approved child care service and eligible families can access the Australian Government Child Care Subsidy (CCS).

Do you provide meals?

Yes. Mojo provides meals for children during the day.

Please let us know about any allergies, dietary requirements, cultural requirements or medical dietary needs during enrolment.

Do children need to bring fruit?

Yes please! We have fruit as part of our morning tea each day and ask families to contribute one piece of fruit their child enjoys.

The fruit is added to our shared fruit bowl and helps provide children with a variety of fresh fruit to enjoy together. This also encourages a sense of community participation for each child.

What should my child bring each day?

Children should generally bring a bag containing their required personal items, including a water bottle, sun-safe hat, spare clothing and any other items requested for their age or individual needs.

Please clearly label your child's belongings.

Do children have to wear a uniform?

No. Mojo does not have a children's uniform.

We recommend comfortable, practical clothing that allows children to freely explore, get messy and participate in indoor and outdoor play.

Will my child get dirty?

Very possibly!

Nature, sensory and messy play are an important part of childhood at Mojo.

Children may explore water, sand, mud, paint, gardens and other natural materials.

We recommend sending children in clothing suitable for active and sometimes wonderfully messy play, along with spare clothes.

Do you spend a lot of time outside?

Yes. Nature and outdoor learning are a significant part of our program.

Our environments are viewed as the third teacher, and children are encouraged to explore nature, investigate, create, move their bodies and engage with real materials and experiences.

What curriculum do you follow?

Our educational program is informed by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and Queensland Kindergarten requirements, alongside children's interests, strengths, development, family knowledge and our service philosophy.

Do you follow Montessori?

Mojo is Montessori influenced rather than a strictly traditional Montessori service.

We value many Montessori principles, including independence, autonomy, purposeful environments, real-life experiences, respect for children and opportunities for children to participate meaningfully in everyday life.

How do you document children's learning?

Educators observe and document children's learning and development over time.

We use Storypark to communicate aspects of children's learning and experiences with families.

Our approach focuses on meaningful documentation rather than producing observations simply for the sake of having documentation.

How do you settle new children into care?

We understand that starting childcare is a big transition for both children and families.

Families are encouraged to visit Mojo, meet educators and participate in playdates/orientation visits before their child's first day where possible.

We take time to learn about your child's routines, relationships, interests, communication, comfort strategies and family life so we can support a gradual and individual transition into Mojo.

Can I tour the centre before enrolling?

Absolutely. We encourage families to visit Mojo, explore our environments, meet our educators and ask questions before deciding whether our service is the right fit for your family.

How do I enrol?

You can submit an enrolment enquiry through our website or contact Mojo directly.

Our team will discuss booking a tour, availability, your child's age, preferred days, session options, Kindergarten eligibility where relevant and your CCS circumstances.

Families will then be provided with the required enrolment documentation.

What documents will I need for enrolment?

Families may be asked to provide information including their child's enrolment details, immunisation information, parent/guardian identification and other documentation required to establish the enrolment and CCS arrangements.

Additional information may be requested depending on your child's individual circumstances.

Do you support children with additional needs?

Yes. Mojo is committed to inclusive practice and works collaboratively with families and relevant professionals to support children's participation.

Where appropriate, we may work alongside Inclusion and allied-health services and other community organisations.

We encourage families to openly discuss their child's strengths, needs, communication, development and existing supports with us so we can consider how we can best support their participation at Mojo.

Can therapists visit my child at Mojo?

This may be possible depending on the child's circumstances, family consent, service operations and applicable visitor and child-safety requirements.

Please speak with management before arranging an external professional or therapist to attend the service.

How do you communicate with families?

We value open, respectful and ongoing communication.

Communication may occur through Storypark, email, telephone, face-to-face yarns and meetings with educators or management.

Families are encouraged to share information about their child and raise questions, ideas or concerns with us.

Can families contribute to policies and the program?

Yes. Family perspectives are an important part of our continuous improvement.

Families may be invited to contribute feedback about policies, procedures, children's learning, service practices, events and other areas of the program.

How do you keep children safe?

Child safety is embedded throughout Mojo's policies, environments and everyday practices.

Our approach includes active supervision, child-safe recruitment and induction practices, risk assessments, CCTV, controlled entry and exit arrangements, visitor procedures, child-protection training, safe environments and clear expectations for educators, students, volunteers, contractors and visitors.

Can visitors use their phones or other digital devices inside Mojo?

Mojo has strict requirements around personal digital devices to protect children's privacy and safety.

Families, visitors, contractors, students and other persons attending the service must follow Mojo's requirements regarding personal devices, photography and recording while on the premises.

How can I contact Mojo?

Families can contact Mojo’s Nature Nest Early Learning through the website enquiry form, call us on (07) 3808 6944, via email, or by speaking with our team at the service.
